Shamed MP in fresh row over Iranian TV show

Commenting on the employment of shamed Old Bexley & Sidcup MP Derek Conway by Iranian state owned Press TV, Duncan Borrowman, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Mr Conway's seat said: "I wouldn't be very happy with any MP doing it, even if they were from my party.

"Press TV claim to be an independent and free broadcaster but it is closely biased towards the Iranian government.

"I wouldn't like my local MP taking money from them. To work, even indirectly, for a country with Iran's human rights abuses is in my view unacceptable for a British MP."
