SHERWOOD ROAD TRAFFIC CONSULTATION RESULTS

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 22nd Oct 2004

The results of the consultation that took place over the proposed traffic calming measures are now in.

The proposals were as follows:-

Proposal 1- Raised entry/junction treatments

Proposal 2- Banned right turns in and out of Sherwood Road/Falconwood Avenue From/to Welling Way.

Proposal 3- No entries into Sherwood Road/Falconwood Avenue from Welling Way.

The only proposal that was supported by a majority was the raised entry/junction treatments. The other proposals or combination of proposals were heavily rejected.

Your Liberal Democrat team welcomes the fact residents took part in the written consultation, although a number of residents were unhappy with the initial discussions, and felt excluded.

Tony Pickett said, "We are glad that all residents in the end had the final say on the proposals. Let us hope that the raised entry/junction treatments help to reduce the speeding problems in the area."

You can rest assured that your Liberal Democrat team will keep you in touch with all future developments.
