Liberal Democrat London Assembly candidate Duncan Borrowman is seeking a deal which will secure a public footpath in Bexley, while protecting a local school's rugby field.

Campaigners are fighting for a long established footpath to be reopened alongside the River Shuttle after BETHS Grammar School erected a fence. Duncan Borrowman, who's family home is in Love Lane, and who himself attended BETHS said: "I am aware of the schools concerns about the field - there have always been problems with motorbikes and dog fouling, even when many years ago I played Rugby for BETHS on the pitch. But walkers need to keep their established right of way.

"I am concerned that the school has been consistently erecting fences that seem too high and unsightly. I think that the ultimate solution is for the school to put up a much lower, but no less robust, fence along the length of the field"
