Yesterday a consultation meeting, attended by Cllr Nick O'Hare and Tony Pickett, took place at Eastcote School to try and find solutions to the traffic problems in Sherwood Road and the surrounding roads.

After a constructive discussion with residents, it was agreed to bring back to another meeting, after costing has taken place, the following:

  • The possible introduction of a no right turn from Sherwood Road into Welling Way. This could have a knock on effect on Falconwood Avenue, but this would take traffic near the lights so the effect could be small. Traffic engineers believe that this could achieve a possible 50% cut in traffic.

  • The possible introduction of entry tables at the Sherwood Road junctions with Ashmore Grove and Falconwood Avenue, coupled with "entry treatments" at the four junctions.

Once these and other possible proposals been further discussed at a future consultation meeting, and funding has been agreed in principle then a full consultation will take place with residents.

You can rest assured that your Liberal Democrat team will keep you up to date with any future developments.
