Welling Station Approach12.00.00am GMT Sun 9th Nov 2003 Bexley Council has announced that, subject to a financial bid to Transport for London for funding, it will buy the private land for upgrading Station Approach between the railway car park and Upper Wickham Lane. This area is an absolute disgrace with rubbish dumped everywhere. Cllr Nick O'Hare said; "This has been neglected for years. If the Labour Council keeps its promise, and lets face it has a poor record, then I welcome this move, but why has it taken so long for them to face up to their responsibilities?"
