Leading local campaigner selected for Greater London Assembly Seat12.00.00am GMT Wed 8th Jan 2003
Liberal Democrat members in Bexley and Bromley have chosen local campaigner Duncan Borrowman as their prospective Candidate for the Greater London Authority seat of Bexley and Bromley. He has also been chosen to be 7th on the Lib Dems London-wide top up list. Duncan has lived in London all his life - most of it in the two boroughs - now living in Bexley, but previously living in Beckenham, Chislehurst, Orpington, Albany Park and North Cray. Mr Borrowman is a former Bromley Borough Councillor, for St Pauls Cray and works in Westminster as the Liberal Democrats Campaigns Officer for London and Eastern Regions. As a councillor he served on Bromley Council's Policy & Resources, Education and Contractor Services Committees and was the Liberal Democrat group lead on Personnel & Administration. He stood as the Liberal Democrats' GLA candidate for Bexley & Bromley in 2000 and was 8th on the Lib Dems London list. He has two daughters who attend local schools. "I am delighted to have been selected. The Lib Dems on the GLA are doing an excellent job, and I am looking forward to campaigning on London wide issues, such as the crisis in transport facing the capital" More information can be found at www.borrowman.co.uk
