Duncan Borrowman is THE local choice for Bexley and Bromley in the London Assembly elections in 2004.

Born locally (in West Hill Hospital, Dartford), Duncan (aged 43) has lived all his life in London; 39 of those years in Bexley and Bromley boroughs. He now lives in Bexley.

Duncan has two daughters, attending Bullers Wood School for Girls, Bickley and Crofton Junior School, Orpington.

Duncan went to school at: BETHS, Bexley; Cray Valley Technical School for Boys, Footscray and Hurst Primary, Bexley. He went to the Polytechnic of North London and is currently studying for an Open University degree.

Duncan Borrowman was a councillor for St Pauls Cray on Bromley Council from 1994 to 1998, and is a former governor of Midfield Primary School, St Pauls Cray. He has stood as a Bromley Council candidate in St Mary Cray (1986, 1990) and St Pauls Cray (1994, 1998) in Orpington and as a Bexley Council candidate in St Mary's (2002). He was the Liberal Democrat candidate for Bexley and Bromley Boroughs for the London Assembly in 2000, when he also stood for the London Assembly list (as he is in 2004). He ran the Liberal Democrat General Election campaigns in Orpington in 1987, 1992 and 1997.

Duncan works in Westminster as the National Campaigns Officer for the Liberal Democrats and is a former member of the Home Energy Conservation Act Steering Group. He previously worked as a Television broadcast engineer - originally trained by and working for the BBC News then in ITV before becoming a successful freelance working on major live events such as the Winter Olympics, Intergovernmental Summit Meetings (Reagan/Gorbachev Reykjavik; G7, NATO foreign ministers, EU ministers etc), Premier League Football, major concerts and other events.

He is a former Vice Chair of London Liberal Democrats and Chair of the Green Liberal Democrats.

He is also a former Chair of Orpington Liberal Democrats and Campaigns Chair of Bexley Borough Liberal Democrats.

He is a member of Shelter, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and the League Against Cruel Sports.
