Cuts to services by Conservative-controlled Bexley Council have been condemned by Old Bexley & Sidcup Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate Duncan Borrowman.
Speaking to a meeting of Bexley Liberal Democrat campaigners, Duncan Borrowman said; "While Fat Cat Bexley councillors have awarded themselves a £20,800 rise in allowances backdated to last April, the Borough's most vulnerable will suffer. Hot Meals on Wheels are being axed for deliveries of frozen food. Nearly £¾ million is being slashed by reviewing the access criteria and allocation of community services, such as day care and home care. £200,000 will be cut by getting social care users to assess themselves.
"While the Council is looking to move the Registry Office at Sidcup Place to Hall Place and Danson House and sell the building off for housing - the trust that runs Hall Place and Danson House is getting its grants slashed.
"The list goes on and on. Bexley Tories like cutting budgets, but not the one to line their own pockets."
