In 2004 Liberal Democrat London Assembly candidate Duncan Borrowman, from Bexley, is fighting the Bexley and Bromley seat against the same Conservative opponent from Docklands and the same Labour candidate from Sutton as he did last time the seat was fought in 2000.
Duncan Borrowman, from Bexley, said: "When the Mayor and GLA were elected in 2000, I was the Liberal Democrat candidate for Bexley and Bromley. I thought I had a good platform to stand on; I have lived virtually all my life in the two boroughs living in Bexley, Orpington, Chislehurst and Beckenham over the years. What astounded me was that neither the Conservatives or Labour put up a local candidate. I considered it incredible that neither of them could find someone from the whole of two London boroughs that they thought suitable to represent them."
